SUNS Youth Basketball Program - 12U

The Philadelphia SUNS Youth Basketball Program aims to provide opportunities for kids to participate in organized basketball, making the sport accessible for kids in the Asian community. In addition to teaching the kids the fundamentals of basketball, we also emphasize values such as hard work, teamwork, respect, self-control, and integrity.

This past weekend, we capped off our 12 and under (12U) basketball practices with a mini tournament amongst the kids. We began the season in September with just 11 players, some who have never played basketball before. This weekend, we had over 40 participants in our tournament, with many of them showcasing their skills in their first competitive tournament. It’s been a long season, and we are happy to see the progress the kids have made. We are proud to see the kids grow as players, but more importantly, we are proud to see the kids grow together as teammates.

We want to thank our coaches, volunteers, parents, and Crane Community Center for making this season a successful one for our 12U team. We look forward to seeing the 12U kids again in September, to continue the progress they have made so far. Look out for youth basketball registration for next season in late August on our website and Facebook.

And lastly, we want to wish our 15U, women, and men’s teams the best on their upcoming NACBA Invitational Tournament in Rock Hill South Carolina this Memorial Day weekend. GO SUNS!!!
